Bonita High School in La Verne was briefly placed on lockdown today after a reported threat raised concerns about a possible danger on campus, school officials confirmed. The precautionary lockdown prompted an immediate response from administrators and local law enforcement as safety protocols were put into effect.
According to district officials, students and staff were directed to move into secure locations, lock classroom doors, remain quiet, and follow instructions from teachers and administrators. These actions align with standard emergency procedures designed to protect students and staff while a potential threat is assessed.
Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, along with Bonita Unified School District security personnel, responded to the campus and conducted a thorough search of school grounds and nearby areas. After completing their investigation, authorities determined there was no active shooter and no confirmed threat associated with the report.
